Many thanks to Ann Harrington and all the people who helped her put on such a great conference. The writing center alums inspired us at Friday' pre-conference, and Shanti Bruce got us off to a lively start on Saturday for our rich day of sessions and conversations. Though it takes a tremdendous amount of dedication and work to pull off such an event, Ann and her group made it seemingly move along effortlessly.
Thanks also to everyone who participated in our election of new PNWCA Board Members. The following people were elected to new 2-year terms:
Teresa Kramer (Central Washington University) --Vice President
Kit Bean (South Seattle Community College) -- Secretary
Dennis Bennett (Oregon State University) -- At-large Representative
Alison Woods (Vancouver (B.C.) Community College -- At Large Representative
As well as simply being a creative group of writing center directors, our new Board should well-represent the geographical and institutional variety of our region.
Our next annual conference, hosted by Teresa Kramer, will take place in the spring of 2009 at Central Washington University. Please respond to Dennis Bennett's call for feedback on this year's conference, so we can continue to provide the kind of worthwhile event that we enjoyed so much this year.
