Hi there,
A faculty member recently asked me if I knew which style guide (APA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.) is most commonly used amongst business education programs. My response was a blank stare, accompanied by an erudite "uh, no." However, I promised him that I'd look into it - hence this posting!
Here are my two questions:
a) Do your Bachelor of Commerce and/or MBA students use the APA style guide, Chicago Manual of Style, or another guide?

I am thrilled to announce that Prairie Brown has accepted the position of Writing Consultant for CWU-Des Moines.
Ms. Brown holds a Master's in English Literature from CWU-Ellensburg. She has been an instructor of English and a writing consultant at CWU and, most recently, North Seattle Community College. Altogether, she has seven years' experience working in writing centers. CWU is lucky to have her back.
As a side note, Ms. Brown was chosen from among a highly competitive pool of candidates, which I believe bodes well for our field.

Hi there,
I'm looking for some information regarding how Writing Centres can contribute to increased student retention. Is anyone aware of any studies that have been done on this question, or do you perhaps have any information that you might be able to share about the experiences of your own Writing Centre regarding student retention?
Thanks very much,
Theresa Bell

Hello,
First of all, I should introduce myself since I'm new to this group. My name is Theresa Bell and I'm the Writing Centre Coordinator at Royal Roads University. Our writing centre is still very new (the doors only opened on April 13, 2007), and it's been an exciting process of building a completely new service for our 3500 students, all of whom spend most of their programs working in the online environment.

Hi, all. I just wanted to say that I'm interested in hearing about your ah-ha moments at the conference. Mine were all about conference-running, rather than about writing center talk, so I would LOVE to hear about yours! And I promise to share my own ah-ha moments, about conference administration, with Ann Harrington, next year's host(ess)!
Here are some of the pictures, taken by our Whatcom friend Dean Hagin: http://faculty.whatcom.ctc.edu/swinans/pnwcapics.htm
More to come; they'll be posted soon to this site by PNWCA photographer, Dennis Bennett.

Hello! Please use this space to continue the conversation on writing centered dialogue across campuses. Did you miss our session, think of something afterwards, or want to talk about something we didn't cover? We look forward to hearing from you!
